Create A Way Foundation - Reality Check    Back

Reality Check
is a program that is designed to deter further juvenile delinquency, by allowing limited interaction with former adult inmates, and may include hospital, morgue and jail tours. Former adult inmates describe their own experiences—associated with extreme brutality, harsh, and unpleasant conditions—during jail and/or prison incarceration to youth participants, who have a history of delinquency and/or being expelled from school.

Reality Check
uses planned visits to Bay Area college campuses and other positive environments, where our Reality Check team members will show examples of youth making appropriate causes to change their reality in effective ways—that may take them further—in whatever positive direction they choose.

Expected outcomes of the program are to encourage youth, through behavior modification exercises, exposing them to alternatives to delinquent activity, and mentoring activities with positive role models.
